Cosmo Magazine – When a creative festival can make visitors feel like they’ve just stepped into a “supermarket of inspiration,” you know it’s no longer just an event, it’s culture.
And this year, brightspot returns with one of its boldest concepts yet: brightspot SuperMRKT 2025, a curated playground where creativity, local brands, and urban lifestyle merge into a supermarket-style experience. Only this time, the aisles are stocked with ideas, fashion, art, and culture.
Hosted at AGORA Mall across two weekends (27–30 November and 4–7 December 2025), brightspot SuperMRKT marks a new breakthrough for a festival that has been a magnet for fashion lovers, local creators, and urban trend seekers since 2009. Sixteen years in, it’s no longer about staying relevant, it’s about evolving.

Supermarket, but Make It Creative
Instead of a traditional pop-up retail experience, this year’s brightspot plays with nostalgia, reimagining the classic supermarket into a creative wonderland. It’s not a place to pick up daily necessities, but a space designed to surprise you, challenge your taste, and shift the way you see lifestyle trends.
More than 220 curated brands fill the aisles, spanning fashion, lifestyle, beauty, and food. The experience is elevated further with playful yet edgy visual installations by Indonesian artist Ardhira Putra, bringing to life the youthful spirit of the creative community.
“A supermarket is a place where everyone meets and finds what they need,” said Anton Wirjono, Founder of brightspot MRKT. “We created the creative version of that, a space where ideas, brands, and communities come together and grow.”
Through this curatorial approach, brightspot has managed to revive the feeling of a public space that’s intimate, relevant, and deeply Jakarta.

A Playground Powered by Strong Collaborators
Behind the visual frenzy and beloved brands, brightspot this year operates like a fully formed creative ecosystem supported by partners who understand urban culture inside out.
BCA brings seamless payments and exclusive promotions for MyBCA and credit card users—turning the impulse to shop local into an irresistible pleasure.
“BCA consistently supports the local creative industry,” said Fandy, SVP of Transaction Banking Business Development at BCA. “We want transactions at brightspot to be smooth and enjoyable.”
Google introduces a futuristic touch with 11 workshop sessions and three months of free access to Google AI Pro, encouraging creatives to embrace AI as a collaborator rather than a threat.
“Indonesian creators have incredible energy,” said Feliciana Wienathan, Communications Manager at Google Indonesia. “AI can supercharge that innovation.”
Other collaborations enrich the festival’s ecosystem, The Executive delivers a special-edition uniform, iForte ensures a fast and stable internet backbone for content creators, Colorbox brings youthful color-play into fashion, while DMMX strengthens digital integration and brand activations. MRT Jakarta and Transjakarta also join in, ensuring that creativity stays accessible.

A Cultural Movement, Not Just a Market
Why does brightspot hold such a special place in the hearts of so many?
Because it represents a generation searching for a playground, a space to express themselves, discover something new, and feel recharged even when everyday life turns predictable.
From its debut in 2009 with 25 tenants and 5,000 visitors, to today’s edition targeting over 100,000 attendees, brightspot has evolved into a cultural laboratory shaped by its community.
SuperMRKT 2025 feels like the next chapter: more mature, more relevant, and more daring in its reinterpretation of retail. It takes something familiar and turns it into something aesthetic, aspirational, and irresistibly Instagrammable.

Ready to Shop for Ideas?
brightspot SuperMRKT 2025 isn’t a shopping festival, it’s a celebration of how Indonesia sees creativity: colorful, layered, surprising, and ever-evolving from one aisle to the next.
In a regular supermarket, you leave with household essentials. At SuperMRKT 2025, you walk out with inspiration, and maybe a little extra courage to create something of your own.
